Power and Performance

The Polestar 5 introduces the Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) with 800-volt technology. It features a 112 kWh lithium-ion battery, which allows ultra-fast charging. On a compatible DC fast charger, the battery reaches 10–80% charge in just 22 minutes. AC charging supports up to 19 kW.

Polestar offers two variants. The Dual Motor produces 748 horsepower and 599 pound-feet of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph. The Performance model delivers 884 horsepower and 749 pound-feet of torque. It reaches 0-60 mph in only 3.1 seconds. Both versions come with four-piston Brembo brakes. The Dual Motor has BWI passive dampers, while the Performance model upgrades to MagneRide adaptive dampers that read the road 1,000 times per second.

For driver assistance, the Polestar 5 comes with SmartZone technology, including 11 vision cameras, a driver monitoring camera, a mid-range camera, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.

Exterior Design

The Polestar 5 closely resembles the original Precept Concept. Its front end is low and houses dual-blade pixel LED headlights. There is no rear window; instead, a digital rearview mirror provides rear visibility. The glass roof measures over six feet long and four feet wide.

The car’s aerodynamic design achieves a 0.24 drag coefficient. A rear diffuser and retractable door handles enhance efficiency. Wheel sizes range from 20 to 22 inches. Polestar offers six subtle silver and gray shades, reflecting its minimalist Scandinavian style.

Interior: Comfort and Sustainability

The Polestar 5 is a 4+1 seat performance GT. Front seats, developed with Recaro, come in Micro Tech or Bridge of Weir Nappa leather. They feature heating, ventilation, and electric adjustment. Rear passengers enjoy four-zone climate control, seat heating, ventilation, and a fold-down armrest with massage functionality.

Sustainability is a priority. Materials include Econyl from recycled nets, BComp flax fibers, and NFPP bio-based trunk lining. These choices reduce weight and lower fossil fuel use.

Technology Features

The dashboard has a 14.5-inch portrait touchscreen running Android Automotive with Google integration. There is also a 9-inch driver display and a 9.5-inch head-up display. The standard audio system has 10 speakers, while an optional 21-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system delivers 1,680 watts with active noise cancellation.

Pricing and Market Outlook

Polestar has not officially announced pricing. Industry estimates suggest a starting price around $100,000. The Polestar 5 combines 884 horsepower, fast charging, adaptive suspension, and a tech-rich interior. It sets a new benchmark for electric GTs with Scandinavian design, sustainable materials, and impressive performance.
